12/16/2023 0 Comments Aramark icare packageGo ICSolutions!! LIFESAVER! lol) Bottom line, the guys in there get VERY creative with their food. So if your one of the ones whose loved ones don’t send them packages, you are missing out on a bit of variety. Some of the things that come in the care packages, is not sold in commissary. So really if you send them ANY care package, they will likely end up trading one or two things for something they really want. The men also trade their stuff for things they want. And, they are rarely ever HOT but in jail, they are happy to get anything other than the soy and starch they are used to day in, day out. These I have come to realize could take a couple of days to reach them, I don’t know why it’s just how it is. Pizza & Wings, Caesar Salad, Hamburger, Pulled Pork Sandwich & a Burrito. If you order the night before they get it the next day, how awesome is that! And, if you don’t want to send them noodles, there are ‘hot trays’ as my husband and everyone there calls them. The more expensive packages have more than just noodles, you just have to be willing to spend a little more. This time around it is for longer than a month so I have gotten very familiar with how things work there and with the companies provided. My husband has been in and out of jail a few times. Still: shame on you, Aramark, for the inadequate and coldness of the birthday card. I would’ve never known her gift bag hadn’t been delivered unless I’d checked the account for the “pending” label six days after the order (FOUR business days). Aramark absolves itself of responsibility about delivery, saying it’s up to the jail, and I understand that, but I wish Aramark would wait till the package is delivered before charging the account. Aramark does not refund unless it’s been given permission/authorization by the jail, and the commissary chief told me to pick up the large clear plastic bag. I received this bag before my daughter did because she was transferred to another facility and I had to pick up the bag. Everything seemed to be junky-sugary (like the bags of Jolly Ranchers), but I’m sure that’s welcome to incarcerated folks. The salsa, two “mild” containers, would expire April 13th of NEXT year. The chips (fresh-ish!) to be delivered were dated to be used by July 26 this year I’m writing this on June 13th (it was supposed to be delivered June 10th and wasn’t). No scoops or measuring device was supplied. The lemonade was a six-ounce package of fine white powder branded “Maxima.” The tea was a six-ounce package branded “Hometown” (makes two quarts). If someone from Aramark reads this and has a heart, please take a hint, invest a few cents more in your already-obscenely profitable packages and supply a decent card for the family buying one. There’s no way to put a message inside, I know–but it would seem like someone doing the purchasing would’ve found a card that could’ve expressed sentiments about being apart but not being forgotten. The birthday card that my daughter was to receive said “ON YOUR BIRTHDAY” on the front and nothing (it was blank) inside. Just a mention about the “birthday” iCare package. Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 11:00 pm CST. If you need to contact their customer service department you can reach them at 1-80, Be sure to read the information regarding the terms of use. You will need the inmates sid number before you get started. The inmate’s family and friends can show they are thinking of him on his birthday, holidays, special occasions or can send something just to show they care. It also allows the family to do something special for an inmate. This encourages inmates to follow the Jail regulations so that they don’t lose their ability to receive these packages. According to Sheriff Ortiz, inmates will only be allowed to get these meals 2 – 3 times a week and it is a privilege that can be taken away. The Sheriff’s Office is trying a new program that allows families to purchase meals and gift baskets for inmates. Aramark is no longer the vendor for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
